As North America’s only recurring conference exclusively focused on universal housing and neighborhoods, the conference goal is to bring about community integration and participation while enhancing the independence of all people at home and throughout their daily lives. Universal Design Summit 4 continues the tradition of providing exceptional content on universal design in housing, sustainable community design, and affordability to create living environments usable by all.

Universal Design is inclusive, attractive and never obvious; it integrates features that improve function and usability for everyone. It is considered a superior approach to design and construction that can be achieved in all house sizes and at all price points.

Member Resource - Recap of NAHB Appraisal Program

The HBA recently hosted a webinar presented by NAHB and Builder Partnerships entitled "Builders Guide to Appraisals: Obtaining Accurate Valuations on New Homes". If you were unable to attend, it was an excellent program which provided an overview of appraisal problems and issues encountered by builders and appraisers. As well, the presenters reviewed recent changes in appraisal standards and practices including the fact that use of an Appraisal Management Company is not required. As well, the program clarified that lenders and builders can communicate with appraisers. If you would like to review the presentation slides from the program click here. You'll also find additional resources and NAHB staff contacts for additional information.
