MarketGraphics Market Snapshot - Regional Review

MarketGraphics Total Markets Outlook

The MarketGraphics Comparison of Markets for October 2010 reveals similar trending for most MarketGraphics New Homes Research Markets.  Generally speaking (a) developed lot inventories have plateaued, (b) permits are increasing, and (c) new home inventories are declining.  All good news!

In spite of improving supply/demand inventories greater factors, including employment and mixed economic news have many potential home buyers remaining in a holding pattern.

What Are The Trends Telling Us?

Two trends are notable at this time:

1.      Southwest Missouri Homeowners and Buyers.  Compared most MarketGraphics markets the Springfield area trends favorably for future population and employment growth.

2.      Southwest Missouri New Home Inventories.  The Springfield area current new home supply/demand conditions are among the best throughout the MarketGraphics markets.

Real World Success Question—What have we learned that can make a difference next year?  Do you have a 2011 plan with less waiting for change and more actions to make change happen?

Housing News Weekly Now Open to All Employees & Agents of HBA Member Companies

The HBA of Greater Springfield Board of Directors recently voted to expand access to its Housing News Weekly electronic newsletter to all employees or agents of HBA member companies. The Housing News Weekly e-mail arrives on Monday mornings and is the primary communications vehicle used by the Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield to keep members up to date on news and information of value to their businesses. Since its launch in 2009, Housing News Weekly has only been available to HBA members who were listed as the primary contact for the member company, or who had purchased additional affiliate memberships for other employees or agents.

Under the new policy, anyone affiliated with a member company of the HBA is now eligible to opt-in to receive the free weekly subscription. No one will be automatically added to the subscription list. Rather, those who wish to receive the electronic newsletter must complete a brief subscription form (found below, or alternatively at this link).

For those who wish to browse past issues of the Housing News Weekly (or to bookmark the archives page), visit the HNW Archives Directory by clicking here.

HBACF Auction & Go Kart Races Set for November 16

The HBA Charitable Foundation's Auction & Go Kart Race event is set for November 16th at Incredible Pizza starting at 5:00 pm. This is the HBACF's biggest fundraiser and all the proceeds go to providing scholarships to OTC (3) and MSU (2 in construction and 2 in Interior Design), along with 3 departmental grants. The HBACF provides more scholarships, both in numbers and dollars, for construction related fields than any other local organization. We have also provided funds for Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross, among others.

There are many opportunities to get involved -- be a sponsor, drive a Go Kart, donate something for the auction! For more detail about participating in this event including an auction donation form, click here.
