HBA Receives Springfield Safe Community Award

On May 28, the HBA was honored with a Springfield Safe Community and Injury Prevention Award for its efforts to provide EPA required Lead Safety Certification training to members and area contractors when there were no local EPA-accredited instructors available.

These awards recognize individuals, groups, organizations, schools and businesses that promote and carry out valuable community safety and injury prevention programs in Springfield, Missouri.

The HBA received the award for an outstanding business or organization that is contributing to the greater well being of its own workforce and the community in general. Board Education Director Brett Godfrey and Board President Rusty MacLachlan accepted the award on behalf of the organization.

Springfield has received the Safe Communities designation which is awarded to communities that have demonstrated leadership in promoting safety, reducing injuries, and preparing their citizens for natural and man-made disasters.
